Big Science Technical Seminar: Advanced Manufacturing

Big Science Technical Seminar: Advanced Manufacturing

Tuesday, 6 December 2022 09:00 - 11:00

At this online Technical Seminar representatives from ESS and CERN will be talking about upcoming sub-contractor opportunities in advanced manufacturing.

Big Science research facilities are especially interested in Swedish mechanical engineering companies, as they often have the necessary technical expertise to take a project from early design to finished product.

Speakers

Patrik Andersson will be giving a status report on sub-contracting activities at the European Spallation Source (ESS). Simon Barrière from CERN will be discussing manufacturing projects involving a wide range of mechanical components. The third speaker is Rui Franqueira Ximenes, also from CERN, who will be talking about manufacturing needs for Beam Intercepting Devices.

Profiles of participating companies

We are compiling company profile information about the participants at this seminar, and will be passing on this information to the speakers. When you register, please provide the following information: name, company, contact information, and Core Competencies.

This Technical Seminar can be of potential business interest for multi-technology engineering and manufacturing companies that can work with materials like stainless steel, niobium, copper, and aluminium in the following fields.

  • Electron beam welding
  • Vacuum brazing
  • Joining
  • Manufacturing of vacuum system bellows
  • Sheet metal, metal spinning, large-size sheet metal working
  • Welded structures
  • Additive manufacturing (powder metallurgy, raw material, hipping)
