European Strategy for Particle Physics 2020

The European Strategy Group has published the 2020 update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics. This is the second update of the strategy, following adoption of each resolution by the CERN Council on 19 June 2020. The entire particle physics community has contributed to the document.

The new strategy will maintain Europe’s leading role in particle physics research, which has many existing mysteries left to solve, not least the nature of dark  matter.

The vision for Europe is to prepare a “Higgs factory”, followed by a future hadron collider with sensitivity to energy scales an order of magnitude higher than those of the current LHD.

The updated strategy will lead to huge investments in years to come, in a segment whose market is estimated to be worth EUR 38 billion in 2020-2024. Big Science Sweden is working to increase awareness of the enormous business opportunity this offers to Swedish industries and academia.

We regularly arrange various kinds of meetings, where we demonstrate both short- and long-term business opportunities, and bring Swedish organisations together to identify common challenges. The aim is to strengthen Sweden’s position in preparation for the upcoming business/development opportunities in the Big Science arena. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information about how we can help your organisation gain a foothold in this exciting and lucrative market.
